What are Cordyceps?
Cordyceps are parasitic fungi that mainly grow on arthropods and various other insects. The most iconic type of this fungi is called Ophiocordyceps sinensis, also known as “Caterpillar fungus.” The fascinating part about these fungi is the irony of it’s existence. While cordyceps are parasitic in nature, humanity has benefited a lot from it’s potential usage in medicine and modern research.
